Staff Sergeant Lewis D Payne

As a Waist Gunner with the 349th Bomb Squadron Lewis' first mission was on 6th July 1944. On 5th August he flew in the Ball Turret with another crew but it turned out to be his 14th and final mission after getting wounded. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
