Paul Holden | Flight Lieutenant Sir Paul Holden WW2 Hurricane pilot. After joining the RAFVR he flew Mk.IV Hurricanes, Mk.V, IX and XVI Spitfires and Mk.V Tempest whilst serving with 287 (Anti-Aircraft Co-Operation) Squadron based at North Weald. Just as the war was coming to an end he transferred to No.74 Sqn to fly the first RAF jet, the Gloster Meteor. After the war he also flew Mk.XXII Spitfires and Vampires. |
