![]() ![]() Rear Admiral Sir Ian Robertson CB DSC (deceased) *Signature Value : £45 | Serving with the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, he flew Barracuda aircraft with No.827 Naval Air Squadron. On 3rd April 1944 he took part in Operation Tungsten, an aerial attack which damaged the German battleship Tirpitz. Later, he took command of the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle for its final commission in 1970. Promoted to Rear Admiral, he retired in 1974. He died on 22nd February 2012. |
